Sustainable WASH Interventions
Constructing clean water supply systems, rain-harvesting infrastructure, sanitation blocks, and promoting handwashing and menstrual hygiene in correctional facilities and schools.
Recognizing the link between health, nutrition, mental well-being, and a safe environment, this theme promotes equitable access to quality healthcare and healthy living conditions.
In this thematic area, we focus on fostering a healthy, dignified, and disease-free society by holistically addressing physical, environmental, and psychosocial wellness needs.
Our interventions combine sustainable clean water and sanitation (WASH) infrastructure with proactive disease screening (including comprehensive Tuberculosis screening in congregate settings and correctional centers) and trauma-informed mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) for inmates, ex-offenders, and vulnerable families.
These are the long-term programmes we run in this area. Each one shows who it serves, what it does, and the latest stories from the field.
Constructing clean water supply systems, rain-harvesting infrastructure, sanitation blocks, and promoting handwashing and menstrual hygiene in correctional facilities and schools.
Delivering trauma-informed care, individual counseling, and support groups for prisoners, correctional officers, and ex-offenders to foster emotional resilience and family reconciliation.
Organizing proactive health outreaches including TB screening in congregate settings (police cells, remand homes, prisons) in partnership with AMREF and Ministry of Health.
